Shelby Lasater

Shelby is 23 years old and has been playing guitar, bass, piano, and ukulele for over 12 years. He has been teaching lessons with us for the past 4 years; Shelby specializes in beginner and intermediate acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, as well as beginner piano and ukulele lessons for students of all ages. You can also find him at the store throughout the week working the counter or working with our repairs.

Shelby is available on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Saturday.

Mike Robinson

“Krazy” Mike is one of our guitar teachers. He is a 64-year-old veteran, and he is the father of one, grandfather of two, and godfather of three. He enjoys golfing and teaching guitar, but especially teaching guitar. His favorite band is The Sons of the Pioneers. Mike always has a joke or a pun ready for you, and he says that “Man cannot live by bread alone, you must have peanut butter!”

Mike is available Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.

Drew Purvis

Drew is our drum set instructor. He attended Georgia Southern University for a Bachelors in Music Education and a Masters in Music Technology. Drew has been playing drums for 22 years, and has been instructing for 8. He specializes in rock and metal music, but has experience with everything from jazz and funk, to hip-hop and country. You can also see him playing drums for his Savannah based metal band Volition // Impulse. 

Drew is available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 

Erika Chambers

Erika is our violin and piano instructor. Having attended Hochstein and Eastman School of Music at a young age, Erika grew to have a love and passion for teaching others what she has learned.
Erika has taught locally for years, and has played for a number of churches and local events. She enjoys making a special connection with all of her students.
Erika teaches a number of different violin and piano methods to suit each students best interests.
A fun teacher for the young ones. Making music fun is her goal! She teaches Suzuki and classical violin.

Erika is available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.

Jack McPeek

Mr. McPeek began his musical journey at the age of 8 years old, taking piano lessons beginning in the third grade and continuing through high school. During these starting years, he soon began playing hymns at church, and later accompanying the choir and playing offertories. As his love for music and piano grew, he pursued and earned his B.A. Degree in Piano Performance at the Ohio State University. He has served as Worship Leader at several churches, taught music history and theory at two Christian schools, and has taught private piano for over 20 years.

Some of his accomplishments are:

  -He was awarded 2 music activity scholarships as an undergraduate

  -He has served as pianist for church camp meetings on several occasions

  -He coached a piano student to four Superior ratings at high school music competition 
  -He recorded a piano solo CD of his own arrangements of church hymns

He continues to enjoy teaching students of all ages.

Jack is available Wednesdays until further notice.

John Phillips

John Phillips offers lessons and coaching on drums, bass, keyboards, guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, accordion, and general music theory and composition. John has been working in music for 25 years. He's taught public school band, toured and performed and recorded with professional groups from symphony orchestras to country bands and everything in between, including a decade teaching lessons and consulting at Music Masters. Lee McCombs

Lee is our new acoustic guitar, songwriting, and ukulele teacher, for students of all ages. They have been playing and performing for 15 years, and have been studying music and classical guitar at Middle Georgia State University for the past 4 years. Lee grew up in Macon annually attending the Otis Redding Music Camp, developing passion for singing, songwriting, and guitar. You can often find them performing around downtown Macon, and at various fundraiser and benefit shows. Lee is a great teacher for younger students, as well as beginning adults. 

Lee is available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Sunday.
